Could you release the source of the tile map editor so that I could add some features, also it would be a good example for us beginner programmers Many thanks,

Welcome to the forum. I would welcome help with the tilemap editor.
The tilemap editor is written in VB6.
1.) Do you have VB6?
2.) Any improvements and the modified sourcecode would have to be shared with the rest of the group.
3.) There are almost no comments. I suspect that it would be confusing to a beginner.

I have A LOT of experience in VB6 (and i have VB6, of course ^^). Please release the source, i would also need some more features. i would need more overlaying image-layers for example. The main Problem is the .Map-format. I looked into it, it is really easy to understand... (Header, Image-Layer 2Bytes per Tile, Attribute-Layer), so a recreation of the mapeditor would be no problem, but will Brutus support multi-image layers one day? If there will only those functions that are already implemented, i'd better write a new editor and a "self-made-tilemap"-implementation.

I will make the source available, and let you know where to get it. I will go through it and add some comments and remove unused code, etc. first. Again, I ask that any improvements be made public so that all can enjoy.
Presently, Brutus2D can load as many maps (one on top of the other) as you have video RAM available. It does not have to be just one map. The last map loaded is the one that the attributes are used.

There just 6 attributes available in BrutusMap. But i am pretty sure that i am not the only one wo could need more. If i make some changes on BrutusMap, there will possibly be more attributes (how about 256?). As far as i see, the map format supports 2 Bytes per cell. Does Brutus2D also support this range?

The 6 attributes was just a random number pulled from my (insert any part of the anatomy you like). 0 to 255 should work fine.
