I am looking for another language to go on to... (not stopping here, just to keep learning ) I am not an expert in brutus by far.. but it would be good to learn some non basic dialects on the way as well.. Right now i am trying Python out... not liking it too much... not sure why.. not because of difficulty.. just doesnt seem useful, for GUI or games dev etc... any ideas?

Try switching from BASIC syntax to JScript syntax. -hartnell

Did you by chance look at Pygame.org. It's a fairly useful engine for Python. I also tried Python but couldn't get used to it either.

IMHO, BASIC is the perfect language for games unless you're really good at programming. It lets you focus on what's important to your game.
Of course that if you're a professional games developer, you'll go for C++ (in which case I recommend Bloodshed's DEV-CPP with Allegro or Irrlicht - both libraries are FREE).
I'd rather make my games with easy-to-use languages such as Brutus2D.

Hi Byo, yeah basic is fun... but at the same time, i don't want to get stuck on basic.. it would be nice to expand my capabilities. Still playing with Python, but that is about it... Got deported (not really deported but forcefully removed from Lebanon... Hence no recent programs.

You may want to take a look at Aurora. www.ionicwind.com/It's very C like and has pretty good 2d and 3D libs.

I was lucky I picked it up when they were having a blow out sale for about $20 (not free, but not bad).
