Yes, officially my first program coded in 3D Game Studio. And also by following the workshop lessons of coding in Lite C. a Screen shot of the program run with a Windowed screen on my desktop... and here is the code: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// #include <acknex.h> #include <default.c> //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// BMAP* first1 = "lis55.jpg"; // my first bmap PANEL* first_pan = // my first panel { pos_x = 50; pos_y = 100; layer = 1; bmap = first1; flags = OVERLAY | VISIBLE; } ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// function main() { video_mode = 7; screen_color.blue = 150; } and adjusting the code to take a full background of 800 by 600 pixels. video_mode-7; is for the display resolution of 800 by 600 pixels. And changing the BMAP pointer structure assignment to BMAP* babylon="babylon11.jpg" and also adjusting the pos_x and pos_y to both 0. I now have this:

thru my evaluation of 3DGameStudio and the Lite C scripting language It has has a steep learning curve at the start. Beginner docs and tutorials are few and hard to find. Its really glitchy and sometimes certain commands and gunctions don't work properly nor at all. I got this one strange compiler error. so I made the switch to Torque.

Torque looks good but it also looks pretty expensive.

yes, it is expensive. and will be my last retail programming language, engine, system. and for a very long time. just like Fallout 3 will be my last computer game...and for a very long time too. I'm using the Torque Game Builder demo and its a trial demo version for 30 days. So, I'm learning all that I can with a walk thru of the Torque development system and with the various tools and features. And also the basics of Torquescript as well. Then.....I will start to learn Torque Game Engine. I have bought this book called "3D Game Programming All In One" and its by Kenneth Finney. It comes with a lot of tools, content, other stuff, and an unlimited trial version of the Torque Game Engine. And foregoing the price of a good pizza and soda, a movie and popcorn and also a fair or semi good DVD....I bought the book for about sixty dollars. And it comes with over a thousand pages of reading information, articles, scripts, samples and references too. Plus and including the CD the indie version is only 150 bucks for Torque Game Engine. and $100.00 for the Torque Game Builder. so as Ice Cube says
