hey Guilect,
if you would like to see/hear some suggestions and even ideas and
concepts for a new 3D Game Maker or construction engine. I'll be happy to share some of my own ideas and concepts.
And also Matthew, Peter, U9, and even sadsack don't hesitate to give your own opinions, ideas, criticisms and ideas as well.
now, first a name to convey the over all purpose and design of this product. Lets call it 3D Canvas Good or cool name?
The name of 3D Canvas expresses the idea of you as a coder and developer as an artist. And the artist as a developer and coder too.
The canvas is always the first required object and is the framework to art your code and code your art. ;D Just as a painter uses a canvas as his/her framework to develop their work. So it is in 3D Canvas.
The canvas is an object where all other objects reside and move in. Its essentially the picture and frame. The default color scheme is 0,0, 0 transparent but can be changed to other favorable and appealing colors. Such as a full solid black such as 10,10,10 and even the full bright White of 255,255,255. Or other colors of the canvas in-between.
Also you can change the width and height of the canvas...the screen resolution and make it either windowed, full-screen, or even scalable windowed too.
Also you can rotate the canvas to your liking. This includes the major and basic degree orientations clockwise and counter-clock wise on 90 degree increments. You can also flip the canvas vertically and/or horizontally.
Want to make some splash art? Splash different cells of the canvas with various colors and patterns. Also make some whirls, twirls and art o matics. And pyschedelic and acid like patterns from the sixties and seventies too.
Make a lot of splashies!
The canvas or canvasses you create and save are essentially the work frames of your projects.
End of part 1.
Next up...sheets and layers.
Also a little more on cells ...or cels.
But take a good look at this picture for a good idea of what I'm talking about. This part of Mount Diablo in Walnut Creek, California. It will be our major reference point and artwork in 3D Canvas
