Hi Guilect, Just a quick hello and how are you doing? Have you found any motivation to work on Brutus2D again? Maybe we will see a port to Android soon? Not to many basic dialects available for Android, so who knows, maybe it could make money. I myself have recently quit my job and started my own game company. Hopefully i will make some money Regards Uni

Hey U9, long time no hear. Brutus2D is done. matthew comes by once in a while. peter will pop up every few months with a new game made from it. But, other than that... I think B2D's days have come and gone. Port to Android, who knows, but not in the near future. I am always on the look out for new things. Besides there is already this: www.basic4ppc.com/forum/basic4android/and here is some other info over at codingmonkeys: www.codingmonkeys.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=fcb0e2171ac6f2c432b55e531d68aad5&topic=2053.msg12791;topicseen#newI have been tinkering with compiler writing, just for fun. The world does not need another I don't think. But I do like what blitz author Mark Sibly is doing and that is basically make a compiler but instead of it spitting out assembly code have it output other languages' code. So, program in BASIC, have the 'compiler' spit out python, or ActionScript/Flash, Java, or whatever. Code once, run everywhere. I have also started about 4 games. (I either get bored or run into something that seems to stop development). One physics based (box2d); one 3D; one the concept was too complicated to actually implement, and another one that is coming along okay. But enough about me... You quit your job And started your own game company, wow. I hope you do well with this. I know you are a good coder so making games will be not so hard for you. Last I heard you were trying out SFML. It is a nice system. I know you like the little hand held devices but remember us folks that only have a PC, we want to play your games too. I tried your wirednerd link but it seems dead. When you get a website for your new venture post it here so we can all keep track of your progress.

Nice to hear, I agree with Guilect, post some links so we can see what you're working on. Currently I'm spending a lot of time on the Basic4GL & thinBasic forums, a new version of Basic4GL is being developed by tom here using the MinGW compiler & the GUI code is being written with wxWidgets. So it should be extremely simple to compile a version for Linux.

My absence,
There is no challenge anyhow, I stand alone on the floor here. I think that the time is over where people plays with Pacman. They want kill-games or sex-games or war-games. The list is filled with horrid thoughts. I am christian, I cannot write like that. All over, blood, blood, blood, they bathe in the blood and are singing Haleluja.
What do you think about this story, it's true, isn't it? God bless you

Hi peter,
violence in video games is like violence in cartoons; its not real. Normal people understand the difference between real and entertainment violence. To be able to release your frustrations in a video game is often thought of as therapeutic.
And do not think for too long that Christianity is without its violence. Study the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition where Christians killed thousands upon thousands just because they did not believe in the same stories that they did. Even today, in Ireland with the Protestants and the Catholics, in the middle east with the Arabs and the Jews.
In no way do I condone violence, but I understand that it is here and will probably always be here.
Peace.

Hi Guilect,
That is true! But this was in the past and all of these christians are dead and rotten. I am another kind of christian, I am without violence, there is only pure divine love in my mind. The older christians of the past are all in the hell. I do know the difference between Mickey Mouse and reality. lol. But this is ever a guidance for unstable people who have not their life under control.
The life is really without violence, the beings are violence! But you are right in this sence....
Was nice to talk about violence and the past. Thank you
Peter

Yeah, my relationship with my website hoster kinda deteriorated But i still own the domain, so now it is pointing to my Sheevaplug at home. I just haven't put anything on it yet, but i will let you guys know when i do. EDIT: It is an awesome server btw I was thinking... wikicomplete.info is half dead, it is now down for weeks at a time, and if you close this site, we all loose touch, never to be seen again. Sad story really. Maybe we should all get a twitter account or something so we can keep up with what everyone else is doing Guilect, what are you doing lately? I mean, for a living? I just asked about brutus2d since for me motivation comes and goes. You shouldn't think the world doesn't need another compiler. If Google had thought the world didn't need another OS, i wouldn't have my awesome Android phone (disclaimer: I know google didn't actually make Android). If nothing else, it will be a good experience for you. matthew, what is different in the New Basic4GL? I couldn't find much info on sourceforge. Compiler improvements? Will he use MinGW to compile the code to machine code, so Basic4GL will convert the code to C before passing it on to MinGW? Does the language change any etc. One thing i found problematic with Basic4GL was that it was very low-level OpenGL. I mean, you have to write glBegin and glEnd commands.. then you are pretty near the hardware hehe... i hope he abstracts a bit this time (and of course makes it OpenGL ES compatible so it could reach handhelds also ). Peter, you did an awesome job making games for brutus2d. But i understand, if noone else is making games too, there is not many people to show your game too. For me at least, that is the most important part of making games, having people play them and getting comments and their reactions. /Uni

There isn't going to be a lot of difference between the new version of Basic4GL & the present one, it's just being compiled in MinGW. So we should be able to finally build it from source. I recently created a Facebook group for Basic4GL here.

@ U9, for a living I have a real job as a test engineer. It is just in spare time that I code. That Sheevaplug is the neatest thing ever saw. You have all kinds of cool toys.
@ matthew, I never got into Facebook (or Twitter); maybe I am too old to learn new tricks.
