Q. How big is a Brutus2D exe? A. As of version 0.0.21 creating an exe will add ~ 67k to your source file.
Q. Does the stand-alone exe program run any faster than when run from the IDE? A. For all practical purposes - no. Technically is does run a little faster, but hardly noticable. Isn't it fast enough ;D
Q. Does Brutus2D compile to machine code? A. No, it compiles to byte code.

I notice your current version number is quite low. What do you base your version numbers on? For example, how long will it take to get to version 1?

No plan on a time line.
The numbers were based on the understanding that the format is A.B.C Where A is the major version, B is the minor version, and C is the revision(build). So right now Brutus2D is on build number 17.
Alot of software is release at major 1 minor 0 (ie. 1.0). That could have been done here, but it was felt that Brutus2D was not YET ready to be considered as stable (as far as features and syntax) go. Maybe more like Beta.
The language is rather new and is anticipated to go through many improvements and updates. Also, the IDE can use enhancing and changes to it will also bump up the version numbers pretty quickly.
Once the majority of develpment changes has slowed, and the language has become stable, help documentation is fleshed out, and bugs have been squashed then perhaps it will be ready to wear the badge of version 1.0
