Hi All, sorry for not posting in over a year. I moved again, ah well... Anywho I have been working on a program that teaches Arabic. I am wanting to release it as GPL in a few months. Anywho, I am really in need of testers.. The reason I stopped by here is: i need to figure out how to make the quiz more exciting. The current beta version can be downloaded at: arabsforchrist.org/downloads/EZArabic_beta_Setup.exeThanks for any ideas. Right now, there is a little status bar that goes lower until it hits zero. Nothing too exciting. Any suggestions would be excellent. Johnny

Well hello Oddchild. Long time no hear. Glad to see that you are still out and about. Your program was a large download, ~ 65 Meg. But after downloading, and right after starting the installer : after pressing the OK button, the hard drive spun for a few minutes. There was a blank window, titled "MainForm". Then I got the "error occured do you want to send to Microsoft..." message. Perhaps the upload (or my download) got corrupted? Any chance for a lite version? Or just a screen shot from you for us to critique instead? Regards, Guilect

Sounds like a corrupted download Basically it plays a sound of a letter and if the user gets it right it plays a sound or if it is wrong it plays another set of sounds. I haven't figured out how to make it more "fun". The reason it is so big is because it has a part in the program called "read along" in which a user can read a long with a native speaker through the Gospel of John in Arabic. Here is a zip version, hopefully it runs fine. arabsforchrist.org/downloads/beta_ezarabic.zipThe error you found seems to have been from the installer program, so I would guess it got corrupted. glad to see things are still going on here.

The only thing I can think of right now, is to have some sort of reward system for correct answers. They can gain points or get treated to a fireworks display, for example. Positive re-inforcement and encouragement might make the program more enjoyable.
